    The Dermoscopy General Practice Program consists of two courses which form the METC Institute Dermoscopy continuous professional development (CPD) pathway.  The Dermoscopy GP Program is suitable for general practitioners (GPs), GP registrars, pre-vocational doctors, international medical graduates (IMGs), dermal clinicians and practice nurses who wish to improve their ability to diagnose skin cancer via dermoscopy. The course may be completed over a period of up to one year and is supported by the METC Institute All You Can Learn model of personal online tutoring.

    The first course is the Foundations of Dermoscopy course (SC104). This course aims to develop clinical confidence in the use of dermoscopy to more accurately assess and diagnose skin cancer cases thereby delivering better patient outcomes. The Advanced Dermoscopy for General Practice course (SC204) is the second course. In this course, participants build on their existing knowledge with more advanced skills in dermoscopic diagnosis including in both neoplastic and general dermatological presentations. The overall aim is for participants to become the dermoscopic reference point for colleagues in their primary care network.
