RACGP Fellowship Preparation.

Welcome to the METC Institute RACGP Fellowship department. With the aim of maximising performance in the Advanced Knowledge Test (AKT), Key Feature Problem (KFP, and OSCE Fellowship assessments, he METC Institute offers GP registrars and International Medical Graduates (IMGs) premium courses and programs.

The METC Institute is committed to delivering GP registrars comprehensive and high-yield exam preparation courses that are directive, convenient, and emphasise active learning as the ultimate method of study. Throughout their studies with the METC Institute, GP registrars and IMG doctors can expect unlimited support and direction from Australia's premiere primary healthcare providers via the GP specialist academic faculty.

Courses may be completed in isolation, or as part of a program which incorporates multiple courses to see the clinician through to successful completion of their Fellowship exams.

About the courses & programs

The RACGP Fellowship department provides a one-stop solution for GP registrars planning to sit their RACGP Fellowship exams. The department offers registrars six courses to prepare candidates for the Advanced Knowledge Test (AKT), Key Feature Problem (KFP) exam, and Objective Structured Clinical Exam (OSCE). The courses included in the department are as follows:

  • Foundations of Australian General Practice Course (GP201)

    Provides the complete syllabus for GP registrars preparing for the Advanced Knowledge Test (AKT) and Key Feature Problem (KFP) exams. The course consists of 21 comprehensive and interactive modules, and is supported by unlimited support from the specialist GP faculty.

  • RACGP AKT Preparation Course (GP202)

    Provides GP registrars with comprehensive practice for the Advanced Knowledge Test (AKT) for the RACGP Fellowship. The course consists of 10 full-length interactive AKT trial exams with unlimited support from the specialist GP faculty.

  • RACGP KFP Preparation Course (GP203)

    Provides GP registrars with comprehensive and reflective practice for the RACGP Fellowship Key Feature Problem (KFP) exam. Fellowship training is facilitated by 10 complete and interactive KFP trial exams along with feedback and unlimited support from the specialist GP faculty.

  • RACGP OSCE Bridging Course (GP301)

    Comprehensive clinical skills training for GP registrars preparing to sit the RACGP Fellowship Objective Structured Clinical Exam (OSCE). The course is delivered via 40 comprehensive and interactive modules and lectures and is facilitated by unlimited support from the specialist GP faculty.

  • RACGP OSCE Preparation Online/Live course (GP302/303)

    Specialist preparation courses prepare GP registrars for the RACGP Fellowship Objective Structured Clinical Exam (OSCE). GP registrars may elect to enrol in specialist online (GP302) or live (GP303) courses written specifically for the RACGP Fellowship exam and facilitated by specialist GP faculty.

Courses and programs are completed online through METC Institute’s advanced Canvas LMS portal. Courses include all learning resources necessary for the study of the clinical theory and practical elements relevant to the AKT, KFP, and OSCE Fellowships exams.

Via the Foundations of Australian General Practice course (GP201) and RACGP OSCE Preparation Online Bridging course (GP301), GP registrars are provided with comprehensive coverage of the entire theoretical syllabus for the three RACGP Fellowship exams. These courses are completed over the course of 42 weeks in order to give candidates a robust theoretical basis from which to approach the Fellowship exams.

Once these courses are commenced, GP registrars are encouraged to begin practicing for their exams. Formative exam practice is facilitated by the representative ATK, KFP, and OSCE practice exams featured in the GP202, GP203, and GP302 courses respectively. Finally, candidates are invited to further refine their clinical skills at the RACGP OSCE Preparation Live Workshop (GP303).
